Bulgaria’s popular resort Sunny Beach has made it into the Top 100 and taken 84th place in the prestigious ranking of the “Top 100 Best Beaches in the World”. The search for the most attractive beaches for the ” Golden Beach 2024 ” award is based on voting by opinion leaders, tourism influencers and travel experts.
Thus, the Bulgarian resort has overtaken such world destinations as Varadero, Cuba, Bavaro, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
The sandy strip, 6 kilometers long and almost 70 meters wide, will welcome its first guests in about 20 days.
“This is the first time a Bulgarian beach has made it into such a rating. We are very proud of this award, which we have received thanks to our work,” beach line concessionaire Kirill Spasov told Nova TV.
The beach of “Sunny Beach” is also the holder of the ecological award “Blue Flag”.
In order to meet the criteria this year, preparations began in early April. For the safety of vacationers during the active part of the season, 52 lifeguard posts are provided, located 100 m from each other. Sights are also included in the criteria laid down in the rating, which put the beach in 84th place in the world.
