Ukrainians in Bulgaria Invest Millions of Euros in the Varna Region

Representatives of Ukrainian business have invested over 30 million euros in the Varna region over the past year and a half.

This information was shared by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Bulgaria, Olesya Ilashchuk, during her second visit to the Varna regional administration for a meeting with the region’s governor, Professor Andriyana Andreeva, and her team, as reported by travellux.eu.

At the beginning of the third year of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Ambassador Ilashchuk expressed profound gratitude for the support her country has received from Bulgaria, including from the local community.

The ambassador thanked for the strengthening of intergovernmental dialogue, especially following the visit to Ukraine by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, and Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov.

Approximately 50,000 Ukrainians have received temporary protection in Bulgaria. Those who have found a temporary home and support in the Varna region are receiving help, protection, and assistance in family socialization, children’s education, and business representation, according to the diplomat.

Ambassador Ilashchuk anticipates deeper economic cooperation between the two countries. At the end of April this year, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sofia will hold the first Bulgarian-Ukrainian Business Forum. The event will provide participants with extensive information on the legal framework for business cooperation between the two countries in economic and trade sectors.
