Temperatures in Bulgaria Break Records
Haskovo has been record warm for the season for the second day in a row. The afternoon temperature in the southern regional center of Bulgaria was 23.8 degrees, which is a record value in the entire history of weather monitoring to date.
The local hydrometeorological observatory’s duty officers reported this to BTA.
The previous warmest day on February 6 was in 1993, when the air temperature reached 18.3 degrees. Monday also saw a record temperature for a day – 21.3 degrees.
Targovishte has recorded a temperature record for the second day, said Krasimira Stoycheva, head of the Meteorological Observatory. Today, the maximum measured value is 21 degrees. According to the institution’s report, the temperature record of 1970 was 18.7 degrees.
According to Stoicheva, the maximum temperature for the month was recorded on February 27, 1995 – 25 degrees. The coldest was in 1956, when minus 21.7 degrees was recorded. In the same year, but on February 5, the absolute minimum for the month was recorded – minus 22.9 degrees.
According to the weather forecaster, warm weather will prevail in the region until the end of the week.
Weather in Northern Bulgaria
Ruse also recorded a temperature record.
This afternoon in Ruse the maximum temperature was 21.9 degrees in the shade, which is a record for this date.
So far, the hottest day on February 6 was 2009, when thermometers recorded 18.6 degrees. The coldest on this date was in 2005 – minus 20.2 degrees.
Weather in Northwest Bulgaria
February 6th is the warmest February in Montana in years.
At 15:00, the temperature in Montana reached 23.8 degrees, the head of the city’s weather station, Lenochka Angelova, told BTA. Its temperature is the highest in the city in several years; the last time the temperature of about 25 degrees in February was reached was in 2016.
The forecast is for daytime highs in Montana and the region to be around 15-20 degrees by the end of the week, followed by precipitation and lows.
Only in the middle of next week will there be a significant cooling and a return of temperatures to the traditional 5-10 degrees for February, Angelova specified.
