Now all campers will pay for an e-vignette in Bulgaria

From today, all camper vans in Bulgaria will pay an electronic vignette, API reported. Until now, if category M1 camper vans weighed less than 3.5 tons, they had to have a vignette, and if they exceeded 3.5 tons, they had to pay a toll. According to the amendments and additions to the Roads Act, published today in the State Gazette, category M1 camper vans, as indicated in the vehicle registration certificate, are now required to pay a vignette regardless of their overall permissible technical maximum weight.
The prices for electronic vignettes for passenger cars up to 3.5 tons, as well as trailers or vans attached to them, will remain unchanged in 2024. The annual fee is BGN 87, the quarterly fee is BGN 48, the monthly fee is BGN 27, and the weekly fee is BGN 13. The price of a weekend vignette remains unchanged – BGN 9.
A separate electronic vignette for a trailer or van is purchased only if their total weight when attached to the vehicle exceeds 3.5 tons. The electronic vignette for a vehicle and trailer/van may have different durations as needed. For example, a vignette for a vehicle may be annual, while for a trailer or dacha it may be monthly, weekly or of another duration.
